The September 2007 version of the Interagency Fire Management Plan Template has been revised to reflect changes in Federal Wildland Fire Policy that was finalized in February, 2009. Other revisions have also been incorporated to address issues identified through field review and use of the 2007 template. The revision effort was approved at the April 15, 2009 meeting of the NWCG Executive Board and is available for distribution and use. Distribution and use of the revised template will be coordinated at an interagency level by the NWCG Interagency Fire Planning Committee.

Release of the 2009 version of the template does not require automatic revision of current Fire Management Plans (FMP). Units will be required to utilize this template, along with agency specific requirements, only when a full FMP revision is indicated or required.

The April 2009 version of the Interagency Fire Management Plan Template is available at http://www.nwcg.gov/teams/ifpc/index.html. The 2009 template will remain in effect until revised or rescinded.
