• Second draft comments have been sent to Fleishman Hillard. A final draft will be available for review on September 1. Final comments will be due to Bernie on COB on Sept. 5. Most comments have been incorporated. Discussed the proposed title for the guide and decided on the title as being: A Communicators Guide for Wildland Fire Management – A guide to fire prevention, mitigation and education practices. It was also decided that the guide will be written in the second person.

• P301 - Region 4 will be handling the contract on this project. Jeannette Hartog has graciously taken on the job of the Contracting Officer's Representative and Maureen Brooks will be the COR trainee. Maureen will be taking the COR course and doing the work with Jeannette supervising. On August 23, at 3PM eastern time, there will be a "showcase" for contractors. This will be a conference call where any interested contractors can call in to ask questions. The bids are scheduled to be opened and evaluated on September 12 in Salt Lake City at 8:30 am. I am planning to travel to SLC in the afternoon of 9/11 and return after noon on 9/13. This will allow time for additional work on Wednesday morning if necessary. As the contract is written, the project needs to be completed by September 30, 2008. The contract is now out for bid. • P310 – The contractor has returned P310 for final review. Maureen Brooks and Jeannette Hartog are completing the final review. The contractor will have to make some corrections before the documents can be sent to Training Development Review for the final review before it gets sent to the TWT.

• S403 – Is planned to be revised this year. A request for Subject Matter Experts has been sent to the field.
