Fire Congress update – Robin has updated the schedule with the latest information from the congress organizers. The WFEWT session will be Tuesday November 14, 2006 from 1:30 pm to 5:30 pm. Other topics during that same time slot are: Changing Fire Dynamics; Wildland Fire Use in the US; Wildfire Impacts; Weather and Climate. Our topic is Communicating the role of fire in your fire management program. Full abstracts will be due in September.

NFPET Update

• Covered the Eastern Areas issues with mobilization – With guidance from the EACC Maureen was attempting to fill the national rotation needs and develop a rotation within the region. This has not worked and the problem is mainly due to the fact that there are three state leaders in EA who have not been able to leave their states this spring due to fire season. Most state folks can take only one or two assignments and some states do not allow folks on interagency assignments until there is a PL4. Maureen will be speaking with the EACC on 6/2 for further direction.
• The beta test for P410 PETL has been completed.
• NFPET Web materials – Maureen is working with the contractor to secure the NFPET materials and to have them posted on the NWCG website. Rick Gibson agreed to assist as needed to identify necessary documents.

Training

• P301 – Task group will discuss draft of P301 on 6/2 at noon. John will get input from LaMar St. John.
• S203 – Alpha test completed in May. Roberta will follow up on the dates for the beta test.
• P101 – no update.
• Course Revisions – TWT may have decided to put course revisions on hold. John will ask LaMar about the current policy on revising courses.

TWT/DHS Meeting

John Owens will attend for the WFEWT. Maureen will notify Logan Lee.
