Mission Statement

The M-581 Fire Program Management Course Steering Committee provides national leadership in management of the M-581 training course. Primary objectives include:

  • Develop and maintain the M-581 training course based on commonly established Agency Administrator and Fire Management Officer performance requirements.
  • Coordinate with M-582 Course Steering Committee to ensure alignment of curriculum between M-581 and M-582.
  • Coordinate course delivery with Geographic Area Training Representatives (GATRs).
  • Develop and maintain a course site or common file structure for course administration and delivery support.
