Instructor Guide

On page 11 of the S-219, Firing Operations Instructor Guide it states that the final exam consists of 32 questions. The exam consists of 40 questions. The first page of the exam found in Appendix C states that the exam is worth a total of 100 points. The exam point total is actually 109 points. Exam questions 33 – 40 do not have a point value listed next to them on the exam itself, however, they do have point values for each and are listed below. Students must have a total of 77 points or higher to receive a minimum passing percentage of 70%.

PowerPoint

An error has been identified in the Unit 3 PowerPoint. The second bullet on slide 76 incorrectly references the NWCG Standards for Helicopter Operations, PMS 510, and states that the Firing Boss “Must” be onboard the helicopter. The  NWCG Standards for Aerial Ignition Guide, PMS 501 states on page 10 of 42 (bullet 14 under Advantages) the Firing Boss “CAN” be onboard during ignition sequences.

WFSTAR 2023 Year in Review and 2024 Core Component Module Packages Available
