 Notes
1) Kato gave us an update of his use of the Raindance machine from this summer. He is recommending it for approval and should have a recommendation letter to Shawn and the Group by end of Oct. The machine did well, concerns are about the seat mount (does not recommend that part) and the proprietary glycol formula (this may be coming from other manufacturers).
2) Shawn had a few things from this summer. First is that when and where we do a face to face meeting SEI wants to come do a presentation for us on some new equipment. Wanted confirmation that we added language to the guide about Tnt helitorches; it is included. Look at putting together an approval letter for new pump/motor combination for the simplex torches out there. Has no further update on the sphere issues that came up this year, noted that a proprietary glycol may be coming from SEI also.
3) Rick moved into a new job with the BLM at Cedar City. Will continue to work on the long line testing that was approved last spring
4) Cathy was unable to continue work on the helitorch instructor’s guide this summer, due to loosing track of Rick. That project will begin to move forward again.
5) Darren thought it would be a good idea to work on putting out a field request for the next guide updates in the near future. Also going to follow up on Rick staying on the sub-group for the BLM.
6) Scott was looking for any examples of completed PASPs in the new format. R8 will be hosting an aerial ignition workshop in the spring, looking for help to teach and for old agendas. This may be a possibility to combine our face to face meeting. Going to look for a new FS helitorch SME to replace Rick
7) Please take a look at the polls coming out for the next call and face to face meeting
Thanks everyone, we will talk to you all in Dec.

NWCG Website Migration

Date: April 01, 2024
Contact: NWCG Webmaster

The National Wildfire Coordinating Group is thrilled to announce a significant upgrade to https://www.nwcg.gov, involving a comprehensive redesign of over 7,000 web pages. This enhancement is focused on improving user experience. The migration to the new NWCG website will commence on April 2, 2024, starting at noon EST and is expected to take a few hours.

During the migration period, as the www.nwcg.gov domain-name-location updates across the Internet, you might encounter either the current or the new site depending on your location. We request your patience during this transition. If you are not redirected to the new site by April 3, 2024, we recommend clearing your browser’s cache and refreshing the page.

Please note that while navigating the revamped website, there may be instances of broken links or errors. Our dedicated web migration team has made significant efforts to minimize such issues prior to launch and will promptly address any that arise via use of analytic reports. We value your patience and understanding as we work towards enhancing your overall website experience.
