D-310, Expanded Dispatch Support Dispatcher (ILT)

Course Description

This course is designed to prepare students to accomplish the duties and responsibilities of an Expanded Dispatch Support Dispatcher (EDSD). Through hands-on exercises that utilize the Resource Ordering and Status System (ROSS), students will organize, plan, and implement a dispatch area to meet the needs of the incident(s); follow established policies and procedures using resource orders and supplemental forms, to mobilize, reassign, and demobilize resources; and demonstrate the ability to respond to changing priorities and situations.

Special Delivery Considerations

The ROSS Simulation Materials are stored online but D-310 is an instructor-led course. Students will not receive course completion credit for completing the simulations without attending the entire D-310 course. Refer to the sample course agenda in the Instructor Guide for guidance on when to present the ROSS Simulations.

A new publication from the National Coordination System Committee (NCSC) is now available. The NWCG Aircraft Flight Schedule Form, PMS 249, will be used for aviation crews and dispatch to share flight information that is needed for resource tracking, and if needed, for emergency procedures.

The Data Standards and Terminology Board is requesting feedback on a new glossary term: Resource Protection Measure (RPM).

The proposed definition is: Practical guidance provided for incident personnel in a manner in which incident objectives can be achieved while reducing impacts to identified resources across the landscape. RPMs are informed by, but not restricted to, Minimum Impact Strategies and Tactics (MIST).
