S-130, Firefighter Training (Blended)

Course Description

The intent of this course is to train new firefighters in basic firefighting skills. This includes a required Online Training (OLT) component and an Instructor-led (ILT) incident exercise that may be arduous in nature. Online component: In the online portion of the course, students will explore the knowledge and concepts required to meet the responsibilities of FFT2. Students must complete the OLT portion and pass the online assessment prior to participating in the ILT component. The OLT should take 13 hours to complete. Instructor-led component: The ILT portion of the course consists of a hands-on incident exercise. This practical training is essential for reinforcing the knowledge gained from the online modules. During the incident exercise, students will be evaluated using the S-130 Student Evaluation Task Sheet. This task sheet is a key component of the qualification process, enabling instructors to observe, measure, and document their performance.
