  • AND Completion and Certification of NWCG Planning Section Chief Type 1 (PSC1) Position Task Book, PMS 311-23

  • Satisfactory performance as an Operations Section Chief Type 1 (OSC1)
  • AND Completion and Certification of NWCG Planning Section Chief Type 1 (PSC1) Position Task Book, PMS 311-23*

OR

  • Satisfactory performance as a Logistics Section Chief Type 1 (LSC1)
  • AND Completion and Certification of NWCG Planning Section Chief Type 1 (PSC1) Position Task Book, PMS 311-23*

OR

  • Satisfactory performance as a Safety Officer Type 1 (SOF1)
  • AND Completion and Certification of NWCG Planning Section Chief Type 1 (PSC1) Position Task Book, PMS 311-23*

* Individuals utilizing this pathway must complete the Planning Section Chief Course (S-440) prior to position qualification.

Physical Fitness Level: None Required

Position does not require a physical fitness level.

This is an inherently wildland fire position and has no endorsement. All-hazards Planning Section Chief Type 1 will need to meet the wildland fire position qualification requirements.

WFSTAR 2023 Year in Review and 2024 Core Component Module Packages Available

The 2023 Fire Year in Review module and 2024 Core Component Module Packages for RT-130, Wildland Fire Safety Training Annual Refresher (WFSTAR) are now available on the NWCG website. The 2024 Core Component Module Package provides all content needed to deliver RT-130.
